| Services: | Nutritional Therapy can effectively support an individual to achieve their personal health goal; it is an holistic approach to health. I work with the client to identify the underlying cause of the health concern, rather than just applying a ‘sticking plaster’ to a symptom. Nutritional Therapy is appropriate for many health concerns including:Digestive complaints, bloating, indigestion, constipation, IBS, diarrhoea, flatulence; Candida or thrush; Food allergies or intolerances; Eczema or other skin disorders; Low energy, tiredness or chronic fatigue; Weight issues; Infertility, PMS, polycystic ovary syndrome or other female hormone related problems; Stress, depression and other mental health illness; Joint or muscle pains, Frequent colds and infections, Osteoporosis; High cholesterol;Hyperactivity; Insomnia; Headaches or migraines; Learning difficulties or Diagnosed Illness. An individual programme will be designed which will include a personal food plan, advice on supplements and, if appropriate, recommendations for biochemical diagnostic testing to investigate particular symptoms more deeply. Any changes suggested to diet and lifestyle will be agreed with the client and take into account individual practical and financial constraints. |

| Services: | THE INSTITUTE FOR OPTIMUM NUTRITION (ION) is an independent, not for profit educational charity whose purposes are: To advance education of the public and health professionals in all matters relating to nutrition. To preserve and protect the health of the general public by giving advice, assistance and where necessary treatment through nutritional therapy. The Institute does this by providing information in its own publications and through media contributions; by conducting various community 'outreach' programmes and events; and by providing educational courses currently ranging from the Home Study course to the Diploma and Foundation Science Degree in Nutritional Therapy. The latter may be upgraded to a full Nutritional Science BSc (Hons) via one year's extra study. The facilities at ION include a comprehensive library, the ION clinics - Optimum Nutrition Clinic and ION Training Clinic as well as the education, marketing and administrative teams that run ION. These resources, together with an excellent reputation, makes ION one of the most respected training bodies and health information resources of its kind in the UK. ION is represented on the UK Nutritional Therapy Council, a member of the Nutritional Therapy Council's Schools Forum, the CMA (Complementary Medical Association) and BANT ( British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy ). |
